What is a Taxi Medical?
All new and existing taxi drivers need to go through a medical check to ensure they are fit to drive. The council will have certain medical requirements you will need to meet to demonstrate you are fit to drive. What Does a Taxi Medical Include?
All taxi driver medical assessments are completed by a GMC registered doctors to a Group 2 standard.
Please note- You must bring your medical summary to your Taxi driver medical.
A taxi driver medical examination typically includes the following:
1. Medical history review from your medical summary/medical records
2. Physical Examination inc height and weight measurements, Blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate
3. Examination of specific body systems: Such as cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, musculoskeletal, and sensory systems.
4. Vision Test including visual acutiy and peripheral vision test
5. Urine Test (if required by the council)
6. ID review inc ID check and proof of address
