Lorry drivers (HGV) and bus drivers (PCV) require a D4 medical on their first application, every 5 years after the age of 45, and annually after the age of 65
The government recommends that a taxi driver must meet the same standards as those of lorry and bus drivers. Here at Motor Medicals we are approved by hundreds of local councils up & down the country.
Student paramedics require a D4 medical to obtain a provisional C1 license. This is often done in the last year of undergraduate training.
A D4 medical is required to obtain a C1 license in order to drive a motorhome. If you passed your driving test before 1997 you will automatically have a C1 license until the age of 70. It will then need to be renewed every 3 years.
