When do I need to renew my ACU/FIM medical?

It’s important to check with the ACU or FIM directly or through official event regulations to ensure compliance with the specific requirements related to your racing discipline.

Under 55 Years Old: Riders under the age of 55 must renew their medical every three years when applying for or renewing their license.
55 Years and Older: Riders aged 55 and above are usually required to renew their medical annually.
Initial Licensing: A medical is required when applying for a new ACU or FIM license.
License Renewal: Medical renewals align with the renewal of the racing license.
Significant Health Changes: If there has been a significant change in the rider’s health status, such as surgery, a major illness, or injury, the ACU or FIM may require a fresh medical examination to ensure the rider is still fit to compete.

Please note Riders aged 55 years and older applying or renewing their FIM License will need a stress ECG or ETT test as well as a medical.
